Who’s Writing Your Story?
I took our dogs, Bonnie and Sadie, for a quick mile walk yesterday morning before going to my girls’ volleyball game.
I love a good morning walk!
It gets the the body moving and all the mental juices flowing. Yesterday was a beautiful morning, especially for January. As I walked, I thought about our perspective in life. Maybe you have heard the saying, “Attitude is everything, so pick a good one.” Well, perspective is kin to attitude. We choose our perspective.
When you walk a country road, there can be a few potholes and gravel– natural obstacles to maneuver. The road has twists and turns. It is full of unknowns. But then there is the sky! The sky seems to be limitless!
Often times in life, we get bogged down. We focus on the problems, challenges and stresses of life. We focus on the potholes and gravel. We look at the twists and turns and worry about the unknowns. I challenge you today to change your perspective. Look up to the limitless sky! In other words, look up to Jesus.
Fix your eyes on Jesus
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
The road of life may seem rough. It may be tough to maneuver and disappointing at times. Don’t focus on the road. Look up and fix your eyes on Jesus. Let’s focus on the joy before us, our goal of heaven. The Hebrew writer goes on to say in verse 3: “Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that YOU will not grow weary and lose heart.”
Take heart today. God is with you!
Be excited about the possibilities of the future. The author and perfecter of your faith is there for you. You choose your perspective and let Him write your story…
With love, Nikki
